Six-part BBC drama focusing on the lives of a family of female divorce lawyers. When Hannah Stern (Nicola Walker) decides to quit the Defoe family law firm to work for a rival company she sparks a backlash from her mother Ruth (Deborah Findlay), who refused to stand down and let Hannah, the oldest of three daughters, take over. It's not long before Hannah's up against her sisters in court and more trouble is in store for the family when their biological father Oscar (Anthony Head) returns after a 30-year absence.
